Moscow, the ancient and current seat of the Russian people. A City full of history, culture, and art. The people, the food, and even the Metro are full of interesting things… When I was there in September 2009, I took many pictures with my Nikon Coolpix P80. Here are a few
One of the most amazing sights in my life, Turning a corner, and as we are about to cross the bridge, I see this. about 7am Moscow time:
Yes, that’s St. Basil.. and here it is clearer shot that afternoon from the river.

Of course, This gratuitous shot is required… to pay homage to the makers of most my equipment
Almost across the river from St. Basil and the Kremlin.
Another interesting Item… one of the Russia Space Shuttle Prototypes… (Bouran) is located in Gorky Park.
And here’s a couple more Pictures of Gorky Park:
Below is the Russian “White House”, which played a Major part in both the August 1991 Coup (leading to the End of the Soviet Union), and the 1993 Constitutional Crisis, that resulted in it being shelled by Tanks!
And to finish off my First set… from the bus, this picture honoring one of my childhood Heroes…
Statue of Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
Over the next few weeks, I will post more from my trip to Russia…
Specifically, one of The Seven Sisters, and Inside the Kremlin

The architecture and design of these buildings is like nothing we have here in America.. just breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteThe resolution and quality of the pics are excellent too. Makes me curious to visit Russia :)
